Copley-Fairlawn Middle School uses the grading program Progress Book for tracking and monitoring student achievement. Teachers post grades, and in some cases assignments, through this web-based grading program.
Parents and Students must have a valid ID and Password to check grades and assignments on Progress Book. ID's and Passwords may be obtained by contacting the CFMS Guidance Office (330-664-4900). Progress Book undergoes weekly maintenance, and may be unavailable between 8 p.m. and Midnight on Wednesday nights.
Important message to Parents about Progress Book: Teachers use Progress Book in a variety of ways. Not all grades are posted immediately upon return of the assignment to the student. For a variety of reasons, posting of a grade to the web may be delayed by the teacher.
It is also important to consider the weight of a grade. A grade showing a student scoring two points out of five points possible (2/5) is a low-weighted assignment, but will still post at 40% and carry an "F" letter grade for the assignment. Looking at a student's overall grade may show that the 2/5 grade does not show a large impact. |
