Meeting Minutes - 9/11/07

CFMS PTA MEETING MINUTES
Tuesday September 11, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 10:10 by President Cheryl Wells.

The May 8, 2007 minutes were read and approved. 

Officer Reports included the following:

TREASURER:
Leslie Stoyer gave a treasurer's report.
She presented the budget.
It was reported that we came into the 2007-2008 school year with $15,420
including the 2007 scholarships that need to be paid out.  This leaves us with
an account of $11,516 . 
Beth Hofacker motioned to approve the current year budget and Janet Tektas
seconded this.   The budget was approved.

PRESIDENT: Cheryl Wells welcomed everyone to the meeting.

COUNCIL REPORT:
Sue Gigliotti and Beth Hofacker gave a council report.  See Attached link   Council Report September Meeting.htm

MEMBERSHIP:
Janet Tektas reported that the PTA membership drive was underway.  They are
still working to meet their goal of  440.   Membership is $5 per person.

PRINCIPAL'S REPORT:
Mrs. Parker (filling in for Mrs. Berkowitz who was unable to attend the meeting)

Mrs. Parker addressed questions regarding block scheduling.  She informed us
that in the future Mrs. Berkowitz would try to have a parent meeting for those
who have questions specific to this issue.
The noise level in the cafeteria was addressed.  Mrs. Parker is attempting to
lower the noise level for the safety of the students in the event that they need
to get a message to a student or group of students.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
5TH GRADE OPEN HOUSE
Jill Pangas thanked everyone who volunteered their time at this event.  It was
well received and a great success.

MAGAZINE SALE
Jeannie Alexander announced that the magazine sale would get underway this week.
We are working with a new company this year.

7TH/8TH GRADE FALL DANCE
Jodie Vrabek talked about the dance.  Denise Kepple motioned to approve the
distribution of a coupon for one free food item per student at the dance to be
paid for by the PTA.  Belinda Check seconded this and it was approved.

NEW BUSINESS
Committee Chair Position to fill:
Cheryl Wells announced that we are sill looking to fill the chair position for
the Art Show, School Board Rep, Canned Food Drive, Library and a Co-Chair for
Reflections

ANNOUNCEMENTS
It was announced that the decision was made to not have the back to school
breakfast.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 by President Cheryl Wells.
