Meeting Minutes - 11/13/07

The meeting was called to order at 10AM by President Cheryl Wells.
The October minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer Leslie Stoyer gave a report.  $16,000 in magazine sales income was deposited.  Money was paid out for the 7th/8th grade dance and a scholarship was paid out.

President's Report - Cheryl Wells
- Article on Homecoming is Losing was handed out.
- Nicole Pupino is collecting cd's, dvd's, and books for teens at Children's hospital.  The box is in the office.
- There is an upcoming meeting for parents of teens at the wellness center.
- The 5th grade parents meeting will be Nov 15 at 11AM.
- We will move PTA meetings to 11AM.  There will be an alert via e-mail.  280 of 340 addresses are available for electronic mailing.
- The 2nd conference dinner is Thursday.
-Cookies for Hospice went well.
- Canned Food Drive - The numbers are still outstanding.  Approvimately 7,356 cans have been collected.  The goal is 10,000.
- Jodi Vrabec presented the Ohio PTA award to Mrs. Forchione.  She then spoke to the group.
- COSI for 5/6 graders is June 4th.  This was changed from a December date.

We received thank yous from a family that received cookies from Hospice and from Mrs. Angheld for the refreshments at the 7th/8th grade dance.

Membership Report:  Cheryl Wells for Janet Tektas - We currently have 352 PTA members.  Melanie Horning will be taking over this committee.

Jennifer Adair, a 7th grade teachers, asked for a donation for a positive incentive program.  $750 per grade was requested.  A motion that up to $750 per grade level (5, 6, 7) be moved into the enrichment fund from the project fund.  This was passed.

Mr. Poe thanked the parents involved in the 7/8 grade dance as well as for the help at the Veteran's Day assembly.
A new secretary will be starting in the guidance office soon.
The ABC Breakfast will be before school this year for 7th/8th grade.
Mr. William Kerrigan will be the interim principal.

Debbie Dugan showed the t-shirt for the turkey trot.
Those who want to watch should be there by 1:30PM.

A newsletter will go in the bookbags tomorrow.
Scholastic books - contacted us saying that we have credits with them. 
Helping Hands and Educator awards will be in December.
